A cat with this extraordinary color has long been considered as an integral part of any magician or a witch practice. This is not surprising, because a black cat always had a reputation for its mysteriousness and mystique, and many people ascribed it with witchcraft abilities and qualities. And only very few really knew that black cat appeared in the world … by accident.
The oldest cat had a golden brown color of fur. This type of color was a mixture of black with yellow hairs. The true origin of the black cat began with gene mutations, when the distribution of yellow pigment in the coat had disrupted in one of her ancestors. As a result of interbreeding with the other dark colored parent, the first black cat appeared, which by the way had no relation to any otherworldly forces. A black cat’s eyes – expressive, shrill and bright – look this way primarily due to monotony and “seriousness” of its color.
Thus today’s statistics show that there are more black cats in large cities and metropolitan areas than in the villages, why this is so, nobody knows. Maybe it’s just a side-genes, which black color cats have.
