
Siamese Cat is unique and inimitable. It is very elegant, graceful, beautiful. The color of this cat is difficult to mix up with something. Cats of Siamese breed are rather smart. They also like communication, attention, and if you show thest qualities, a Siamese cat grants you the warmth and love, devotion and affection.
They are very active cats that need to be in the spotlight. These cats need attention, love and physical contact and can’t stand to be unnoticed. Sociable and affectionate, very attached to people whom they live with,they can be jealous and possessive. Cats are very gullible, adapted to live around children and other cats (but in other hand they are jealous, and frustrated by lack of attention, caused by time spent on caring for children) and dogs who can can relieve hours of solitude. Cats are developing rapidly, agile and interested in everything that surrounds them. They meow a lot, have a large number of different intonation, their tune can be hoarse and insistent. Siamese cats from-Oriental groups are able to exercise their vocal chords, changing the tone and pitch to express their needs and feelings. They love to play even in adulthood, they are easy to train. The ideal owner of Siamese cat is balanced and dynamic, able to appreciate alertness, sensitivity, and exceptional devotion. All Siamese cats have a recognizable color – trunk light or even white, and the muzzle, ears, tail and paws are darker. Depending on the color the following types of color are distinguished that are collectively referred as “color-point” blue-point, red-point, seal point, chocolate point, lilac-point , cream-point, Caramel Point, and others.
This color is a display of partial albinism, called akromelanism. It’s action is connected with the temperature characteristics of a living organism: in warm parts of the body produce less pigment than the cold ones, so the ears, paws, tail and snout painted darker than the rest of the body color. With age, the contrast points over the body may reduce. After a year most of the cats have pointed color shading on the body. Siamese kittens are born completely white, and a few days after birth points begin to darken , the final color is set after 6-10 months.
The first of the known colors is a seal point so-called “royal color” (limbs are dark, black-brown, and body is beige or cream-colored body). Blue point was bred next(with the blue ends and pure white color, descending into the color of markings on behind or a bit lighter) and chocolate-point (snout, ears, paws and tail are of a beautiful shade of chocolate, and the body is of so-called color “Ivory”). There are currently more than ten different kinds of color. So, if you have decided to have a Siamese cat, then you can choose from many variants.
Many Siamese cats had originally a kink at the end of the tail and a noticeable squint. At the moment, these genetic defects are also sometimes occur in Siamese cats, however, cats with such defects get discarded and disqualified cationed from breeding. Previously, these deficiencies were considered to be signs of the breed.
Why Siamese Siamese cat called this way? The thing is that this breed originated in Thailand (more than six centuries ago), formerly known as Siam. Therefore, the cat became Siamese. Residents of Siam revered this cat as a sacred or even divinity and worshiped it in the temples, arranged the ceremonies with her participation. Therefore, Siamese cats were not exported abroad for a long time in Europe and America, no one knew about this breed.
Only in the second half of the 19th century, one of the rulers of Siam made a gift to the European representatives, allowing them to take away Siamese cat . Since then, this breed got an opportunity to develop and spread throughout the world. Initially in Europe Siamese cats were available only to royal personages, and enjoyed, as well as in Thailand, the royal privileges. Then in the late 19th century, the first exhibition in England was held and led to the rapid growth of popularity of Siamese cats in European countries.
So far in the early 20th century in Great Britain the first club of Siamese cats was created, the breed’s standard was developed. Also, Siamese cats were brought to Russia. Further, over time, different kinds of color began to appear, as well as new standards were developed. Currently, Siamese cats are wide spread throughout around the world, they live in usual “no-royal” apartments and gladden their owners
